Home Remedies for Eczema Treatment

In this article, we will tell you about home remedies for eczema treatment. It is a term for any kind of inflammation process involving the skin redness, itching and minute papules. In other words, we can say that it is boiling out of the skin of any body part. Eczema can be used to describe rash-like skin condition. This skin condition starts at the time of birth and continues till childhood. In some people it continues till adulthood. This disease is inherited by child if a parent has had it or other atopic disease. Environmental factors also cause Eczema. Hot weather, high and low humidity also leads to eczema.

1.) Healthy Diet to Treat Eczema

Healthy diet is necessary for everyone. Take a diet rich in protein, which lower the effect of Eczema. You can take eggs, fish, peanuts, and soy as they are rich in protein. There are people who cannot properly digest the proteins, which causes allergic problems. Take a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids as it will help lower down the skin inflammation due to anti-inflammatory properties. Fish, green leafy vegetables are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

2.) Wear Light Clothes to Get Rid of Eczema

Changing your clothes doesn’t mean you have to spend on new clothes. You should avoid clothes that are heavy, doesn’t let air pass or scratchy fibres. Use softer ones like cotton, silk or bamboo, which are moderate on the skin. Dark coloured clothes especially the black ones, trap the heat for a long time and makes the Eczema worse. Use detergent for clothes that are free from chemicals and scents. At last, avoid wearing clothes cause irritation on the skin like woollen and nylon clothes.

3.) Magnesium Bath to Treat Eczema

Hydration helps in healing red and itchy skin. Taking bath allows moisture to get locked in the skin. Use moisturizer to seal the moisture in the skin. Avoid hot baths or showers, and take mild water bath. Magnesium bath help in soothing the skin and make you feel relaxed.

Fill your bath tub with warm water, add 1-2 cups of magnesium flakes and soak in this for 15-30 minutes. The result you may see on back in a week or so. Drink a good amount of water after this magnesium bath.

5.) Oil and Cornstarch Paste to Treat Eczema

Cornstarch helps in gaining the lost moisture of the skin in Eczema. Cornstarch also has properties to heal Eczema effects like red marks, irritation. Cornstarch helps in connecting tissues of the skin. The oil you have to use could be olive oil or grape seed oil.

Mix oil and cornstarch in a bowl to a fine paste. The paste should not be so thick that spreading it would not be possible. Apply the paste on the affected area as per requirement, let it settle for 30 minutes. Wash it with lukewarm water. Apply moisturizer after drying with clean cloth.

6.) Honey to Treat Eczema

Honey has the property to heal the symptoms of Eczema. Honey is a natural product that is in use for centuries because of its anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory properties. It cures the Eczema in fast way of healing the ruptured skin and bringing moisture to skin. There are many remedies for eczema but it is undoubtedly the best one.

Apply a thin layer of honey to the affected area. Cover it with a bandage so that honey, don’t rub on anything. Leave the bandage for 15-20 minutes, then wash off with cold water. Apply the honey at least 3 times in the day.

7.) Herbal Soap to Cure Eczema

There are herbal soaps which are easily available in the market. Herbal soap ingredients work as moisturizing agents which moisturizes the skin cells. Try to use a soap which contains lemon and cucumber as ingredients. Don’t rub the affected area hard with soap as it will cause more damage. Slowly and gently use the soap it will remove the dead skin cells and helps in healing the affected area. Take regular mild water showers for relief from pain and irritation.

It is the most easy and straightforward home remedy for Eczema. It contains fats and moisture which you lose in Eczema. It heals rapidly by going deep into the skin and filling gaps between skin. Coconut oil is a good example of hydrating agent. Coconut oil has properties to fight bacteria and heal the inflammation, which help in lowering Eczema. Coconut oil is easily available in the market. There are numerous remedies for Eczema but it is quite popular.

Take a few drops of coconut oil on a cotton swab or on your fingertips to apply on the affected area before going to sleep. Rinse affected area softly in the morning. Repeat the process regularly until results are seen.

9.) Turmeric Paste for Eczema

Turmeric is in use for centuries for the treatment of skin disorders. Turmeric is an integral part of ayurveda and ayurvedic medicines. It is used for a variety of health diseases including skin problems. Turmeric contains Curcumin that has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric can be used on burns also, it works by moisturizing the skin. Turmeric can be used in food products also that is internal and can be used in the form of paste that is external.



Take a bowl, add 2 tablespoon of turmeric powder and mix it with water to make a paste. Apply this paste to your affected areas. Leave it for one hour or the whole night. Wash it with water next morning and feel the difference.

10.) Juniper Oil to Treat Eczema

Juniper oil, extracted from the Juniper tree has effective properties that help in making your skin smooth and fresh by working on skin follicles. Juniper oil is very strong and thus diluted with carrier oil and used in small quantities. It helps in fighting with bacteria causing Eczema.

Mix the drops of juniper oil with the carrier oil. Clean your affected parts with cotton. Pour a few drops of mix oil on your palm and gently massage on Eczema affected area of your body. Massage regularly for best result.

11.) Potters Clay Paste to Get Rid of Eczema

Clay is a gift of Earth that helps in removing the dark cells and dirt on the skin. This dirt makes blockage of pores resulting in Eczema. Clay removes the extra oil of oil glands. It also helps to stop the over-drying of your skin and providing moisture to the skin. It is one of the best remedies for Eczema. It is safe and is easy to get from the nearby stores.

Take a bowl, add two spoons each of potters clay and rose-water. Make the paste by mixing it well. Apply the paste on your affected area where Eczema is present. Wash it after it dries up. Repeat the process at regular intervals.



12.) Fish Oil to Cure Eczema

Fish oil is a good source of N-6 and N-3 fatty acids, that are quite important for smooth and silky skin. In Eczema the skin has the deficiency of fatty acids, that are provided back by fish oil. Taking daily dose will help to recover faster. It is one of the greatest home remedies for Eczema.

Fish oil can be taken in the form of capsules or in liquid form. If you are taking liquid, add some orange juice in it so that it takes away the odor and flavor of the fish.
