Now, in this article, we will tell you about home remedies for hives treatment. It is also known as urticaria. Hives is a skin problem in which red bumps, swollen rashes appear suddenly on the skin. Hives is caused due to the body’s reaction to some sort of allergy or there can be some other reason also. It causes burning sensation on the skin. It can appear on any part of the body, on the face, lips, ears, or throat. Hives varies in size from small grape size to a dinner plate.

1.) Acute Urticaria: This hives stays for a long period of time even for five weeks. The reason for this hives is allergic reactions, insect bites, medications, chemicals in food products. The most common foods that cause hives are fish, eggs, tomatoes, milk products. Medicinal drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen also causes hives. Food preservatives also cause hives.

2.) Chronic Urticaria: The cause of this hives is impossible to determine. In some people, it is because of thyroid, cancer, hepatitis or some kind of infection. This hives stays for six weeks.

1.) Apple Cider Vinegar for Hives Treatment

Apple cider vinegar has properties of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It is one of the best remedies for hives. Apple vinegar manages the pH of your body which destroys the hives breakouts.

Take a warm glass of water mix 2 tablespoons apple vinegar and take it daily. The other way of using it is made a toner to apply to your face. Mix the apple vinegar with water and spray every night on your face before going to sleep.

2.) Coconut Oil to Treat Hives

Coconut oil is a good example of hydrating agent. Coconut oil has properties to fight bacteria and heal the inflammation, which help in lowering hives. Coconut oil is easily available in the market.

Take a few drops of coconut oil on a cotton swab or on your fingertips to apply on the affected area before going to sleep. Rinse your body parts where hives is present softly in the morning. Repeat the process regularly until results are seen.

Take half cup of water, add baking soda to make a paste. Apply this paste to your hives affected area for 15 minutes . Wash off with water and apply this after regular intervals.

8.) Vegetable Glycerine to Cure Hives

Glycerin or glycerol, is the major ingredient of soap and other moisturizer. There are two types of glycerine regular and vegetable glycerin. Regular is made from animal fats, and is not vegetable glycerin quality. Vegetable glycerin comes from coconut and palm oil. Vegetable glycerin is 99% pure. This glycerine helps in providing moisture to dry skin during hives. It fills the gap in dry and dehydrated skin. When dissolved in water, it makes ideal for moisturizing agent.

Take a spray bottle, add vegetable glycerine and filter water mixture into it. Use 2-2 ratio of glycerin and water, and give it a shake. Spray on the affected area of your body. You can use this mixture regularly after  3 to 4 hours during the day.

9.) Fish Oil for Hives Treatment

Fish oil is rich in N-6 and N-3 fatty acids, which are particularly important for smooth and healthy skin. In hives the skin loses these fatty acids, which are provided back by fish oil. Taking daily dose will help to recover faster. Those who regularly eat fish are less to suffer from hives.

Fish oil can be taken in the form of capsules or in liquid form. If you are taking liquid, add some orange juice in it so that it takes away the odor and flavor of the fish.

10.) Aloe Vera Gel to Cure Hives

Aloe Vera has chemicals to boost the circulation in blood vessels in the skin, as well as kill bacteria. Aloe Vera has property to close the pores through which fluid discharge by contraction of blood vessels. It makes the skin smooth and soft and helps in removing infection caused by fungus. Buy, the Aloe Vera paste from the market without any composition and apply to the affected areas of your chest. If possible, apply the natural gel of leaf. Cut the leaf take out the thick gel with your fingers and apply directly on the hives.

11.) Oatmeal to Cure Hives

Oatmeal works quite effectively for hives. Its anti-inflammatory, soothing and anti-irritating properties provide aid from irritation and help your skin heal fast. It is one of the easiest remedies for hives to implement.

Mix one cup of baking soda and one cup of ground oatmeal. Pour this mixture to a bathtub having lukewarm water. Mix it well and submerge in this water for at least twenty minutes. Take this soothing bath daily two times until your condition becomes better.

You can also, mix together two tablespoons of cornstarch, two cups of oatmeal and sufficient water to form a paste. Apply the paste on the hive region for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy once daily.

12.) Ice Pack to Get Rid of Hives

Most skin allergies can be cured using ice packs. It is the best natural remedy for hives. Ice pack helps to block the further release of histamine and shrink the blood vessels. This in turn lowers the swelling, inflammation and itching. It is one of the simplest remedies for hives.

Cover some ice cubes in a muslin cloth or towel. Apply it over the affected skin for 15 minutes. Do this two to three times a day. You can also go for a shower or a cool bath if required to lower the skin inflamed by hives.

13.) Ginger to Treat Hives

The antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties of this wonder drug can help you to treat hives. It targets the enzymes that trigger inflammation. It reduces swelling and minimizes itching. All you need to do is peel a piece of ginger and keep it in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes. Now, put this peeled ginger piece on the affected area of your skin. Repeat this treatment 2 to 3 times a day to get rid of hives.

14.) Nettle to Get Rid of Hives

The strong antihistamine, astringent and anti-inflammatory properties of nettle can help you to get rid of hives easily. It not only relives pain and inflammation but also reduces itching. All you need to do is take a cup of hot water and add one tablespoon of dried nettle leaves. Cover the cup with a lid and let it steep for 15 minutes. Add a little amount of honey and drink this tea 3 times a day to improve your condition.

15.) Mint to Treat Hives

The cooling effect makes mint an effective remedy to get rid of hives. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of mint reduces the itching and minimizes inflammation. All you need to do is boil a cup of water and steep two tablespoons of crushed mint leaves in it. After 5 to 10 minutes keep this strained water in the refrigerator. Use this water to wash the irritated areas of your skin. Do this several times a day for promising results.
